The White House

This transformation of a tired 1960’s house occupying a prominent plot on Station Road Knowle enabled us to work closely with a design conscious client with a keen eye for detail, and an appreciation of contemporary architecture.

With the project including fully automated and integrated access, lighting, security and entertainment systems, underfloor heating to both ground and first floors, along with a swimming pool and a separate gymnasium building, our brief called for a high level of coordination and a solid set of construction documentation.

Our favourite features include the spiral wine cellar with glass lid that forms the focal point of the entrance hall, the concept glazed staircase, and the minimalist kitchen with secret door to the utility room.  The luxurious en-suites, ample storage areas, and the inspired landscape scheme add to the feeling of a truly “joined up” design that is as practical as it is beautiful.

We subsequently learned that our ability to really listen to a potential client’s requirements, and respond to the brief without preconceptions, had secured this commission – something that we continue to aspire to.
